Our Story

My name is Faiza Abdulgafur and I'm an entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience across East Africa and Australia in businesses ranging from the automotive industry, import and exports and in hospitality. Food has always been a passion of mine and I've found it to be personally fulfilling to host and entertain friends and family over scrumptious meals made of passed-down recipes of my mother and grand-mother. Having a heritage of both East Africa and South Asia, the fusion of flavours and style of cooking have always intrigued my guests and literally left them drooling for days! My guests' compliments about my food further fueled my passion to preserve and pass down those delicious and unique flavours for more people to enjoy.

Hence the birth of Jambo Foods® 

Jambo Foods® is a brand that caters to the tastebuds of those who are a little on the fearless side of life and wouldn't mind taking a (hot) shot.

My most popular dish, the Choma (swahili word for barbeque), perfectly represents a modern, multicultural Aussie tradition with a twist of East African blends of flavours. We love our barbecues and the Choma paste takes it to a whole new level. Seriously, try it.
